Will - 5 years agoYou can easily expand on this and probably make it more aesthetically pleasing. also it would be a very cheap helmet. I'm thinking probably would go great as a companion for those pay as you go bikes?
Will - 5 years agoMaybe even disposable bike helmet would be a good idea to go with, apart from the negative environmental impact. That addresses a real need for design, with the rise in popularity of those bikes, but no rise in safety included. just a thought!

AustinBaker - 5 years agoi'm super on board with the idea of an inexpensive helmet that could be sold in a vending machine. Maybe it has a limited lifespan...or an option for limited life spans.
prototypologist - 5 years agoThis is very similar to the expanded, 3D printed version of the base hexacomb lattice in the Hexo Helmet designs. The price savings would be a significant, despite the short life of the materials. Could this be made as a carbon fiber wafer, and then made into an "origami"? I'll do some sketches to explain my idea. There could be varied levels of re-use.
